Henrico County Bulky Waste Collections
Henrico County has contracted with TurboHaul to provide bulky waste collection at highly discounted rates to county residents. TurboHaul has provided bulk trash and junk removal services to Virginia residents for over 28 years, and we are committed to providing professional, dependable and efficient bulk trash removal to Henrico County residents.
Henrico Real Estate Advantage Program (R.E.A.P) participants should call Henrico County at (804) 501-4275 to request a Bulky Waste order.
QUALIFYING ITEMS
- Furniture, including mattresses and box-springs
- Household appliances (Refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, etc.)
- Leaves, yard clippings pine tags, twigs, and small branches (all must be bagged).
- All thorny greenwaste must be tied or bagged or it will be rejected, as it is a hazard to our crews who are picking the material up by hand.
- Tree limbs. MAXIMUM four-foot (4′) in length and four inch (4’) in diameter. Cut to size as necessary.
PROHIBITED ITEMS
- Limbs and branches over 4 feet in length and/or over 4″ in diameter
- Construction and remodeling debris
- Concrete, brick, block, asphalt, dirt, rocks
- Tires and automobile parts
- Lawn mowers
- Debris resulting from evictions
- Materials left by contractors, realtors or developers
- Liquids of any kind, including but not limited to: Paint, oil, antifreeze, pesticides, herbicides, solvents, other chemicals or hazardous waste of any kind.
- Compressed gas cylinders—propane, oxygen, acetylene, etc.
PRICING
Special pricing has been negotiated on your behalf by Henrico County and is at a 50% discount from the current market rate.
- Each approved Standard Pile (8’x4’x4′) will cost $67 (Qualifying Items Only)
- Each additional approved Standard Pile will be an additional $67.
- Mattresses and boxsprings will be an additional $25 per unit.
- Appliances containing ‘freon’/refrigerant gas, will incur an additional $35 fee to support recycling of the refrigerant gases. Refrigerant containing appliances include refrigerators, freezers, air conditioning units, and dehumidifiers. PLEASE NOTE: Refrigerators and freezers must be emptied of all food before pick-up.
STANDARD PILE SIZE
The approved Standard Pile size is an area up to 8′ x 4′ x 4′ in size —equating to approximately 4.75 cubic yards. This volume is roughly equivalent to the following measures:
- Laying a full-sized piece of plywood on the ground and stacking it with material ‘belly high.’
- Filling the bed of a full-sized pick-up truck level to the sides.
- One full-sized sofa stacked with material.
- Four washing machines or two full-sized refrigerators.
PAYMENT
Only credit card payments accepted. No cash or check. Credit card will be recorded at time of scheduling and will be charged after 12:00 p.m. the day before scheduled pick-up.
CANCELLATION POLICY
No charge if your pick-up is cancelled before 12:00 p.m. the day before your scheduled pickup. No refunds available after the cancellation period.
CURBSIDE PICK-UP ONLY
All Items must be curbside for pick-up. Please ensure items are easily accessible and not blocked by vehicles or anything else. Items not curbside or that are blocked upon arrival will not be removed and service will be considered performed.
NO TIME WINDOWS
Pick-ups will be completed between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on the scheduled day of service. Items must be at the curb no later than 7:00 a.m. the day of your scheduled pick-up. If items are not immediately present upon arrival, the truck will continue with its route and your service will be considered performed.
